In Vergils 'Georgica' und Ovids 'Metamorphosen' nimmt der Mythos von Orpheus eine bedeutende Stellung ein. Diese Tatsache läßt es lohnend erscheinen, den Intentionen der Dichter und Ihrer jeweiligen Ausdeutung der Gestalt des Orpheus und seines Schicksals genauer nachzugehen. Im einzelnen wird dabei auch zu Thesen der neueren Forschung Stellung genommen werden müssen. Zu prüfen wäre unter anderem die verbreitete Abwertung der ovidischen Darstellung gegenüber der vergilischen sowie die herreschende Kennzeichnung der Orpheus-geschichte als "the myth of the poet".

Comme première partie d'une analyse plus large sur la forme de l'épigramme de Martial, on étudie ici les types de vers employés. On part non seulement de l'intérêt évident par ces questions -démontré par le propre poète le long de son oeuvre-, mais du fait reconnu à l'unanimité que c'est entre les mains de ce poète que le genre est définitivement conformé, en y cristallisant toute une série de traits qui deviendront désormais plus ou moins canoniques. Par là on peut comprendre ensuite les possibilités d'une étude de cette sorte.

The verbs serived from gentilic nouns and toponyms, generally with suffixes -ίζω, -άζω, have the broad meaning to 'imitate the habits of people from a town' or, more specifically, 'their language and the way they speak'. We also find some examples in which they refer to the imitation of some feature of the external aspect, such as 'to wear Thessalian tunic', or some specific habit, like 'to be a pederast'. This work studies most of these verbs with their uses and documentation. Their origin is studied in those cases where the meaning is odd.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that Quevedo's sonnet 'Sola en ti, Lesbia,...', whose main source is Martial 1, 35 (34), may also have other indirect sources such as Ovid's 'Amores', 3, 4, and Cicero's 'Pro Caelio'. These indirect sources could explain the expansions and deviations Quevedo's sonnet presents with regard to Martial's epigram.

The present study aims to analyze the technique of verbal reminiscences, repeated throughout the poem LXIV, above all in Ariadne's episode, together with the implications these verbal echoes have for the meaning of the text. Catullus' poem LXIV was undoubtedly conceived by the author himself as his masterpiece and it reveals the meticulousness with the neoteric poets composed their works of greatest poetic zeal. This explains the compositional virtuosity that can frequently be discovered in the text. The procedure serves to provide a framework for the descriptive sections or direct speech; to link the differente events by urderlining the casual relations between them and to confer a symbolic nature on the text.

Solution libraire alternatif, parallèle au rouleau, la forme 'codex' elle venue à satisfaire des demandes et des besoins très concrètes. Quand nous parlons de «revolution dans l'histoire du livre» ou de «triomphe du codex», nous exagérons le vrai role joué par cette modalité du livre même dans le monde chrétien. Ses origines sont très modestes: ils on fallu quatre siècles pour que le codex ait été adopté sans restrictions, et peut-être pour raisons d'autruis à ses caractéristiques techniques.

This work attempts to demonstrate, accor­ding to a new analysis of the texts, the main role played by Sempronius Asellio in the evolution of Roman historiography. Special attention is payed to Cicero's viewa about history and historians in order to understand the writer Asellio and his true contribution to historical genre.
